VINTAGE COLT SAA MAKER MARKED T.E. HORAN DENISON, TEXAS WESTERN SHOULDER HOLSTER

Description

This is a very unique holster by a rare maker from Texas. T. E. HORAN is listed in the Denison City directory in 1887 as the T. E. Horan Harness shop. He is also listed in the city directory in 1901 as a manufacturer. The holster will fit the Colt Single Action 5 1/2”. This shoulder holster has a very unique design. There is leather lacing holding the actual holster to the shoulder rig. I am not sure if this holster started out as a shoulder holster or was adapted to fit the needs of the owner. Part of the stitching is missing at the bottom and one or two of the leather loops have come undone. The leather is worn from use but no tears. The makers mark reads “T. E. HORAN / DENISON, TEX.”.
