    Description

    This listing is for an authentic vintage sample of  barbed wire fencing.   This wire features a Thomas H. Dodge & Charles G. Washburn patent, dated January 24, 1882. This wire is called "Dodge & Washburn's Four Point Aluminum Barb on Glavanized Steel lines"  by collectors.  (ref. Hagemeier  1089-B).   This wire features two twisted together line wires.   Wires are made of galvanized steel.    The barbs are four pointed made by twisting two aluminum barbing wires together around one of the line wires.    Wire sample is at least 18" in length.  Wire shows light age and use wear with light pitting.   There are four barbs,  well spaced, and cut is well centered. There are no no bent, broken or missing points.   Wire is in very good used condition.
    This sample of antique barbed wire is absolutely old and authentic and sells with no reserve.  Shipping will be .50, within the United States.   We have listed many other samples of antique fencing and barbed wire, and will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping.   Additional wire purchases, paid on the same invoice, ship for fifty cents each.
