Description
Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands of Greece. In the ancient world, it was famous for the Colossus of Rhodes, a large, bronze statue of the sun god Helios – one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Here is Helios on the nicest diobol (double obol) of Rhodes that I’ve ever come across. (There is a minor flan chip, but it does not detract, imo. It doesn't look like damage to me - it looks as if it chipped during striking.)In this grade, this coin sells for around 0 at other retailers. (Check vcoins.)
