1920s MILLER BROTHERS 101 RANCH WILD WEST SHOW TRADE TOKEN GOOD FOR 10 CENTS

Very Rare and original, 1920’s Store Card / Trade Token being a 10 cent “Good For” Token issued by the Miller 101 Ranch General Store in Marland, Oklahoma. This wonderful, 101 Ranch General Store Trade Token measures approx. 1 1/8" in diameter and was used for the purchase of goods at the General Store on the grounds of the Miller 101 Ranch run be the Miller Brothers and a part of their Wild West Show.
The Token features an image on the obverse of a Cowboy riding a bucking bronco – this image is taken from a photograph by western photographer Ralph Russell Doubleday of Wild West Show Cowboy Performer Yakima Canutt on a horse named “South Dakota”. The reverse features text that reads “101 Ranch Store / 10¢”.
The 101 Ranch operated a large General Store, which was the mercantile center for northern Oklahoma for a number of years. The two-story Store was built in 1918 and served as the ranch office and store as well as the heart of the 110,000-acre ranch. The ranch was a self-contained community sporting its own refinery, orchards and gardens, tannery and butcher shop. Ranch hands were paid with 101 Ranch Scrip and Store Tokens, redeemable at the 101 Ranch General Store. This Scrip and Store Card Tokens have become collector’s item.
The early 20th century, 101 Ranch Store Card / Trade Token offered here is unconditionally guaranteed original and is NOT a reproduction, reissue or modern Token but rather an original, early 20th century 101 Ranch Store Trade Token and guaranteed to be deemed authentic by any 3rd party authentication service.
We are not coin or token dealers and do not know how to grade this type of brass Trade Token but have included high quality scans of the token which give a very good indication of the condition. The Token appears to be in very good to excellent condition with light wear to the very highest spots only. The strike is crisp and strong and the Token is very attractive. The Token retains a significant amount of its original gold gilt surface.
